9-Year-Old Willow Smith (Will's Daughter) Makes Musical Debut
This seems to be the year of the child artists, not least of which is Willow Smith, 9-year old daughter of Will Smith. According to the article below her debut pop song, 'Whip My Hair was produced by Jukebox; Willow is shooting a video for the song later this month in L.A. It probably didn't hurt that she is Will Smith's daughter either.

Will Smith's 9-Year-Old Daughter Makes Remarkable Musical Debut - Stop The Presses!
Willow Smith, the ber-stylish 9-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, is turning heads with her debut pop song, 'Whip My Hair.' The super-catchy 3-minute-and-16-second banger hit the Web earlier this week, racking up accolades while listeners debated whether the mature-sounding vocal could have been performed by a fifth-grader. Los Angeles' giant Top 40 station KIIS-FM added the track to its rotation, and today morning-show host Ryan Seacrest put the rumors to rest by interviewing Willow live on the air, along with the man who signed her to his Roc Nation empire: Jay-Z
"It's very, very amazing and it's very overwhelming," Willow said of her budding career (she also complained about math homework and said she's a huge fan of Billy Idol, then burst into a few bars of "Rebel Yell"). She explained how "Whip My Hair" is a self-empowerment anthem: "It means just be an individual - you can't be afraid to be yourself," she said. "You have to be yourself and you can't let anybody tell you that that's wrong. My mom and me are very strong individuals. Lots of people don't act like themselves, so they're not happy."
Jay-Z phoned Seacrest to say he was blown away by Willow's maturity and honesty when they met, but the first thing that caught his attention was simply the track. "I heard the record first before I knew that it was recorded by a 9-year-old, and I was like, man, that record's a smash," he said. "She has a child's innocence but she has a clear vision of what she wants and who she wants to be," he added, comparing her to some of the most acclaimed child stars of all time. "When you have that sort of talent and that sort of vision, there's no such thing as too young. We all danced to Michael Jackson records when he was eight, [and] Stevie Wonder started at eight.
